THIRTY SONG CHALLENGE #7 ~~~~~ [Die Ruhe Vor Dem Sturm (The Calm Before The Storm) - ASP]

Das Land liegt still
Die Luft erfüllt kein Vogelsang
Es bleibt kein Ton
Das Lied des Sängers längst verklang
Die Welt mit altem Staub bedeckt
Die Luft nach kalter Asche schmeckt
Und meine Kehle zugeschnürt
Und keine Seele die mich führt

Die Zeit bleibt stehen
Die Zukunft zerrt am Augenblick
Wird nie vergehen
Gedehnt, kein Lidschlag, kein Zurück
Was, wenn mein Herz nicht weiterschlägt
Nicht mal der Schmerz mich vorwärts trägt
Schau stumm hinab vom Dunklen Turm
Dies ist die Ruhe
Dies ist die Ruhe vor dem Sturm

Ha! Moar watercolors!!! :horns::iconshaplz::horns:
Yet another painting for my song challenge is complete. I'm not entirely satisfied with the result, but there's only so much I can cover up with paint before I have to give up and redo the entire thing. The trees really bug me because I couldn't find a small enough brush to create all the teeny tiny little branches on the larger one. :X They look almost cartoon-like, and basically that's the thing I was trying to avoid in the first place with this artwork. :ashamed: Oh well.
At least I got the clouds right though. Usually I'm terrible at making clouds. The watercolors and the references online helped a lot. And yes, before you point it out, I know that the left side of the piece is a little bare. It was kind of the point. I wanted to make a good transition so that you could see the calmness on one side, and the creeping monster of a storm rolling in on the other.
Overall though, I think it's good enough frame and hang in my room somewhere. I need more paintings to hang on my walls. They're looking a little bare lately. ^^; lol

Painted with watercolors.
